Responsible ecosystem restoration and bioenergy for the long term.
An innovative approach that scales sustainably, unlocking the potential for a fully zero-carbon aviation sector by 2050.
Rigorous site-specific restoration plans, driven by the latest advances in science
Bioport analyzes each local ecosystem for all of its unique traits. We first understand what native species have been lost and which invasive species have taken root. We are then able to adopt a restoration strategy specifically designed for each climatic niche.
To best restore habits with native plants, our technology provides new insights to natural plant breeding that humans have been safely doing for thousands of years. With recent breakthroughs in sequencing the genomes of grasses, Bioport is able to have a far greater impact in enhancing positive impacts and minimizing risks of restoration.
Rigorous site-specific restoration plans, driven by the latest advances in science
Cultivars of grass typically only thrive in narrow climatic niches, so our technology breeds climate-genotype matched cultivars to enable impactful restoration at-scale. Analysis of soil columns and other local variables informs our breeding strategy.
A new standard for biodiversity
Historically, prairies were one of the largest temperate biomes on Earth. But today human activity has mostly relegated prairies to relics of the past. Today they are crucial but rapidly dwindling sites for biodiversity and soil carbon storage. Our technology unlocks more biodiversity than once possible by driving durable restoration tailored to each location.
Powered by renewable electricity
We are committed to sourcing 100 percent renewable energy for Bioport operations. By supporting new clean energy projects, Bioport can mitigate scope 2 emissions.
Automation and machine learning
We’re using automation and machine learning to operate more effectively and efficiently. All of our data is integrated into our software platform, seamlessly guiding operations and continually improving our processes.
Measurement, reporting, and verification
We know our impact can only be as big as we’re able to transparently and verifiably measure it. Effective measurement, reporting, and verification of emissions and emissions reductions is critical to help understand emissions sources and trends, design mitigation strategies, and enhance credibility.
Taking an inclusive approach
To support communities disproportionately impacted by climate change, Bioport is committed to working directly with organizations that advocate for frontline communities, advance climate justice, and cultivate solutions that prioritize equity and community building in pursuit of net-zero emissions.
REMOTE SENSING
To accurately measure the impact of projects, Bioport is deploying innovative remote sensing technologies to develop habitat and carbon maps of the project areas
Tracking detailed satellite imagery will help ensure that projects meet our high standards and allow us to quantify and verify impact over time.
Retrofitting biorefineries, multiplying production
Bioport's technology transforms grass residues into clean and sustainable fuels for hard-to-abate sectors.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Bioport's transformation technology outputs a liquid fuel mixture consisting mostly of jet fuel

Cellulosic Sugars
In addition to directly making fuel, part of the grass residues turn into sugars for Ethanol-To-Jet

Renewable Diesel
Part of the fuel mixture becomes renewable diesel

Renewable Gasoline
The remaining fuel becomes renewable gasoline
Advanced bioenergy for Net Zero
Modern and sustainable bioenergy will play an essential role in enabling the global energy sector to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. Bioenergy is a versatile renewable energy source that can be used in all sectors, and it can often make use of existing transmission and distribution systems and end-user equipment.
