Emergent BioSolutions focuses on developing a robust portfolio of immunobiotics that fulfill our mission –
to protect life. But, developing immunobiotics, such as vaccines and therapeutics, for preventing or
treating disease can be an expensive and risky proposition.

We use an acquisition and licensing strategy to obtain marketed and development-stage biodefense and
commercial product candidates that can provide new or improved methods for activating a prophylactic or
therapeutic immune response. We believe this approach enables us to minimize development risks and
potentially accelerate commercialization timelines, thereby enabling us to deliver immunobiotics to the
global community.
